Who we are

We are a duplicate bridge club based in North Bristol. We play with the emphasis not so much on winning the game as on enjoying it.

We are primarily a Members' Club, but visitors with at least some experience of playing club bridge are welcome to come along and play.

Our regular bridge sessions are on Wednesday evenings starting at 7.15pm and Friday evenings starting at 7.00pm. There are gentler duplicate sessions starting at 1.30pm on Monday and Friday afternoons. Our acclaimed supervised play sessions are on Thursday afternoons, also starting at 1.30pm. All sessions are held at the RAFA Club, Westbury-on-Trym. More details of our sessions.

There is some car parking available on site, but also in the surrounding roads, and in the evening the licensed bar serves refreshments throughout play. Results and hand records are available at the end of play and on this website.

We are affiliated to the Avon Contract Bridge Association and the English Bridge Union, and master points are awarded for all of our events.

Membership: please see here. Table money is £5.

The AGM was held at the Club on Wednesday 15 May 2024. The annual reports are available here.

Health and Safety

All members attending sessions are required to have had both vaccinations, and a booster where possible, against Covid, to not be under a duty of self-isolation and to be feeling healthy and symptom-free on the day. The playing room has built-in extractor fans, and we run two air sanitiser units, which use UV light to kill germs. Hand sanitiser is provided for use.
